QUEENS VILLAGE, NY (06/10/2010)(readMedia)– The United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 1500, New York State’s largest grocery workers union has endorsed District Leader Hector Ramirez for State Assembly in the 86th Assembly District in the Bronx. UFCW Local 1500 is one of the area’s largest and most active labor unions, representing more than 23,000 workers.
“Receiving the endorsement of the 23,000 members United Food and Commercial Workers is an incredible boost to my campaign,” said Ramirez. “I believe in the principles they stand for, and I will fight in Albany for working families just as they do. I am humbled to receive their endorsement and I look forward to partnering with them to bring the kind of change so desperately needed in my district and beyond.”
