It is never too early to be thinking about the future. UFCW Local 1500 has a pension plan for both Full and Part time members to help provide them with income after they retire. Our Pension plan is one of the finest in the retail industry. Most important, THERE ARE NO DEDUCTIONS FROM THE MEMBERS PAYCHECKS TO PAY FOR THIS PLAN. This allows our members the opportunity to save money in additional ways.
This Plan is helpful for all of our members, Full and Part time, young and old alike. If you are a career member, you can count on a pension that will help you maintain an excellent quality of life after you retire. Local 1500 also provides plans for different age requirements that allow some members to retire at the age of 55.
The new vesting rights after 5 years for all workers will now allow for a pension for even younger, part time members who only stay with Local 1500 for a short time. Years after leaving the retail industry, they will still be benefiting from belonging to Local 1500.
So, do not overlook the importance of preparing for the future. Belonging to Local 1500 is a step in the right direction (individual plans may vary depending on collective bargaining agreements).
